Privacy notice

What Alethman News and the Alethman Blog keep about readers, and why. This covers news.alethman.com and blog.alethman.com.

Reading

You can read everything without an account. We count how many times each article is opened, as one number per article. We do not run advertising or third-party trackers on these sites.

Your account

One account works on both sites. When you make one we keep:

  • your email address and name;
  • a password hash, if you set a password (never the password itself);
  • if you sign in with Google, your Google account identifier and profile picture address;
  • whether you want the newsletter, the topics you follow, and the articles you save;
  • which site you signed up on, when, and when you last signed in;
  • your active sign-ins, with the browser they came from, so you can be signed out.

The newsletter

We email you only if you ask for the newsletter, and every newsletter has a way out. Turn it off at any time on your account page. We send account email, such as codes and password resets, whatever your newsletter choice.

Who sees it

Alethman's staff can see reader accounts in order to run the sites and the newsletter. We do not sell or rent reader data, or share it with advertisers.

Deleting your account

Delete your account from your account page and we remove it, your sign-ins and your saved articles at once. Questions: contact@alethman.com.
